Renter's insurance is required for all AllStreet residents. Here's exactly what you need, how to submit it, and why it matters for you.
Renter's insurance protects your personal belongings and gives you liability coverage if someone is injured at your home or you accidentally damage the property. AllStreet's insurance covers the building — but it does not cover your personal property or your liability.
Without your own policy, you'd be personally responsible for replacing your belongings after a fire, theft, or water damage — and liable out-of-pocket if someone gets hurt in your home.
Renter's insurance typically costs $10–$20/month and covers your belongings, personal liability, and temporary living expenses if your home becomes uninhabitable.
You can use any licensed insurance provider of your choice. You can also purchase a policy directly through the Resident Portal.
Log into your insurance provider's portal and download your certificate of coverage or declarations page (the one-page summary of your policy).
Make sure AllStreet PM, LLC is listed as Additional Interest, all residents are named, and liability is at least $100,000.
Log in and upload your declarations page through the portal. Or email it to support@allstreethomes.com with your name and address.
| Situation | Deadline | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Before or at move-in | Lease Start Date | No fee |
| Within first 7 days | Day 7 of lease | No fee for month 1 |
| After day 7 | 15th of each month | $9.95/mo exemption fee |
| Policy lapses or expires | Immediately | Auto-enrolled in Exemption Program |
Your policy must remain active for the entire lease term, including any renewals or month-to-month extensions. If your policy expires or lapses, you will be automatically enrolled in the Exemption Program.
If you don't submit proof of renter's insurance, you'll be automatically enrolled in the Exemption Program at $9.95/month as additional rent. This program does not cover your personal belongings, provide liability coverage, or replace renter's insurance in any way. It simply allows you to opt out of the coverage requirement — at your own risk and expense.
We strongly recommend getting your own renter's insurance policy. It's typically inexpensive and protects everything you own.
Can I use any insurance company?
Yes. Choose any licensed provider. You can also purchase coverage through the Resident Portal.
Does renter's insurance cover my roommates?
All residents on the lease must be named on the policy. Check with your provider about adding co-residents.
What if I already have renters insurance?
Great — just make sure AllStreet PM, LLC is added as Additional Interest and liability is at least $100,000. Then submit your declarations page.
What if my policy renews and the dates change?
Submit your updated declarations page to Property Manager before your policy renewal date so there's no gap.
