You're responsible for all utilities at your home. Get everything set up before your move-in date so you're not without service on day one.
Per your lease (Section 12), you are responsible for setting up, paying for, and maintaining all utility accounts for your home throughout the lease term, including any renewal or month-to-month period. This includes:
โ Set up utilities before your start date. If service is not active when you move in, any resulting issues (e.g., frozen pipes from no heat) are your responsibility.
Powers your lights, appliances, HVAC, and outlets. Contact your local electric provider to transfer or open an account in your name before move-in.
Columbus: AEP Ohio is the primary electric provider.
Powers your furnace, stove/range, and water heater (if applicable). Call your gas provider to activate service before your start date โ critical in winter.
Columbus: Columbia Gas of Ohio is the primary provider.
Contact the local water authority to transfer the account into your name. Some municipalities auto-transfer; others require you to initiate it.

Trash pickup is typically managed by the city or municipality. Confirm your pickup schedule and location of bins. Keep trash in designated areas โ not on the porch or yard.
Garbage violations are a $50 fine per incident.
Set up your own internet service with a provider of your choice. Schedule installation early โ many providers have wait times of 1โ2 weeks.

You're welcome to install your own security system or cameras โ just make sure installation doesn't damage the property. Let us know before drilling or hardwiring. AllStreet also offers an LTE-based outdoor camera system for a monthly fee.

If a utility system in your home stops working โ furnace, water heater, electrical panel โ submit a maintenance request through your portal right away.
If you experience a gas leak, leave the property immediately, call your gas provider's emergency line, and then call 911. Do not use light switches or phones inside.
